Match Dates & Time: –

25th April 2026 (Weekend Matches).

6 PM to 12 AM on both the days

Winner gets: –

1st & 2nd position gets Cash Prices + Trophies + Certificates.

1. πŸ“Œ Match Format

  • Matches will be played in Singles format (1 vs 1)
  • Each match consists of:
    • Only 1 set
  • Player who wins the set wins the match

Standard lawn tennis court will be used

  • Singles sidelines apply (inner lines)
  • Net height:
    • 3.5 feet (42 inches) at posts
    • 3 feet (36 inches) at center
  • Players must use approved tennis rackets and balls

3. 🎯 Basic Gameplay Rules

  • Each rally starts with a serve
  • Players hit the ball alternately across the net
  • Ball must land within opponent’s court boundaries
  • A point is won when opponent fails to return legally

4. πŸ“ Serving Rules

  • First server decided by toss / mutual agreement
  • Serve must:
    • Be hit diagonally into opponent’s service box
    • Start from behind the baseline
  • Each player gets:
    • 2 serve attempts (first serve + second serve)

  • Even points β†’ Right side
  • Odd points β†’ Left side

πŸ‘‰ If both serves fail:

  • Double fault β†’ point to opponent

  • Points are counted as:
    • 0 (Love), 15, 30, 40, Game

πŸ‘‰ If both reach 40–40 (Deuce):

  • Player must win:
    • Advantage β†’ Game (2 consecutive points)

6. 🎯 Set Rules

  • A set is won by the first player to:
    • Win 6 games
    • With at least a 2-game lead

7. πŸ”₯ Tie-Break Rule (at 6–6)

  • If score reaches 6–6, a tie-break is played

Tie-break rules:

  • Played to 7 points
  • Must win by 2 points
  • Scoring becomes: 1, 2, 3…

  • First player serves 1 point
  • Then alternate every 2 points

8. πŸ”„ Player Movement & Side Change

  • Players switch sides:
    • After every odd-numbered game (1, 3, 5…)
  • During tie-break:
    • Switch sides after every 6 points

9. ⚠️ Faults (Important)

A fault occurs when:

  • Ball lands outside court boundaries
  • Ball hits net and does not cross
  • Serve lands outside correct service box
  • Double fault (both serves missed)
  • Foot fault (stepping on/over baseline while serving)
  • Ball bounces twice before return
  • Player hits ball twice consecutively
  • Player touches the net during play

10. 🏁 Winning the Match

  • Player who wins the set:
    • (6 games with 2-game lead OR tie-break win at 6–6)
  • Is declared the match winner

11. 🀝 Conduct & Fair Play

  • Matches are self-officiated unless stated otherwise
  • Players must:
    • Call lines and faults honestly
    • Respect opponent
  • Any disputes:
    • Decision by tournament organizer is final

  • The court is wider compared to singles
  • The side areas are called alleys

  • Teams decide the serving order at the start of the set
  • Players alternate serving every game

  • Ball hits partner before crossing net
