Tournament Rules
- All standard rules for the game apply. These are the highlights:
- General Regulations
- Tournament will be played with two playing categories, i.e., Singles and Doubles.
- Tournament is divided into three different types of Games for both categories mentioned above:
- Knock-outs – 11 points | Best of 3 matchesSemi-Finals – 11 points | Best of 5 matches
- Serve Regulations
- The server shall then project the ball near vertically upwards, without imparting spin, so that it rises at least 16 cm (6 inches) after leaving the palm of the free hand and then falls without touching anything before being struck.
- In singles, the serving player can serve from anywhere on his/her side of the court and to anywhere on the receiver’s side of the court
- In doubles, the server has to follow the Order of play of Doubles and serve from the right side of the court to the diagonally opposite – right side of the receiver’s court.
- Racket Regulations
- The racket may be of any size, shape, or weight but the blade shall be flat and rigid.
- The surface of the covering material on a side of the blade, or of a side of the blade if it is left uncovered, shall be matt, bright red on one side and black on the other.
- Wins and Losses
- A match in every game type shall be won by the player/team – first scoring 11 points unless both players/teams score 10 points when the match shall be won by the first player/team subsequently gaining a lead of 2 points.
- A match in every game type shall be lost by the player/team if they fail to show up at the above-mentioned venue at their assigned time slot without prior notice.
- Time Out Information
- A player/team can take a maximum of 60 seconds timeout for every match they play.
- After every match, a player/team shall be provided with a maximum of 60 seconds break before the start of another match in each type of game.
- Player/Team Disqualification
- Each umpire has the authority to disqualify any player/team for objecting to decisions or for un-sportsmanship like conduct, language, or foul play.
The umpire’s decision shall be considered final in all matters and situations.
